Decorated Pumpkin Contest

The Library's annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest is now underway.    Sponsored by Zelienople Area Public Library, Room to Grow and the Kinsey-Volz Funeral Home.  From September 30 to October 5 participants may select a pumpkin to decorate at the Library. A $1.00 donation for each participant/pumpkin will be used to help pay for prizes. Participants will register for the Adult Division (18 and over) or the Children’s Division (17 and under). Pumpkins are to be decorated, not carved or cut. You must use one of the provided pumpkins to insure everyone has a pumpkin of the same general size. Return the decorated pumpkin to the Zelienople Area Public Library by 6 pm on Monday October 7.  Judging will be done on Tuesday October 8. People’s Choice Voting will be available at the Library from 10 am Tuesday October 8 to 1 pm Thursday October 10. One vote per person. Winners will be displayed at the library. Other participants’ pumpkins will be displayed at participating Zelienople Main Street businesses from October 11 to 13.  Locate the business displaying your pumpkin and report to Room to Grow at 146 S. Main St., Zelienople, for a finder’s prize. If you want your pumpkin after October 13 please make arrangements with the business where it is displayed to pick it up.
