eResources Help

Zelienople Area Public Library (ZAPL) presents…instructional guides for eResources! Yes! How great is this!

In hopes to aid your use and enjoyment of our digital offerings, we’ve come up with a few formats to further your eResource journey.

video tutorials

One first such offering is our ZAPL YouTube channel. There we have a few videos going over the use of the Butler County library catalog, the ZAPL website, and a guide for OverDrive. Our audio and visual learners may want to check out this option first.

Video tutorial topics:

  • Using OverDrive,  the ebook/eAudiobook lending platform
  • Using the library’s online catalog
  • A tour of the library’s website

guides in text

We’ve also concocted some text-based instructions for Libby and OverDrive which can be accessed right here on the web. Both long and short versions are linked to below.

Here are the long, A-Z, illustrated, step-by-step documents for using Libby and/or OverDrive on Android or Apple devices:

OverDrive-for-Apple-devices

OverDrive-for-Android-devices

Libby-for-Apple-devices

Libby-for-Android-devices

If you prefer text-only or a shorter set of instructions, try one of these two page documents :

Apple-devices_libby_short-handout

Apple-devices_overDrive_short-handout

Android-devices_libby_short-handout

Android-devices_overDrive_short-handout

Courtesy of our lovely friends at Cranberry Township Public Library, here is a guide for getting Kindle books sent to an older generation Kindle e-reader, Kindle tablet, or to the Kindle app on any smartphone or tablet. Step six and onwards from the second page of this guide are particularly relevant to all of the above scenarios.
